Following internet speculation yesterday when My Chemical Romance posted information about a proposed European tour on their official website, K! can confirm that it was in fact merely a rumour.

The proposed dates, which included four nights at London's O2 Arena, have now been removed from the band's website and their official MySpace page.

Following a deluge of e-mails and comments from concerned K! readers who phoned up to buy tickets only to be told by the venue that they knew nothing about the series of gigs, K! dot com contacted the band's booking agent for clarification.

"It's just a rumour," he told us. "Fuck knows how they managed to get on their official website."

So it looks like British fans will have to wait a little longer to see their heroes back in action.
