Those of you feeling "Torn" about your lustful feelings for Australian pop singer/actress/model Natalie Imbruglia (or less likely for Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns) can carry on with a less guilty conscience now that the pair have announced that they're splitting up.
"While we are very sad that our marriage has ended we want to make it clear that our parting is amicable and we remain friends," said a joint statement released by the former couple. "This mutual decision has not been taken lightly or quickly.
"However, our career demands and our lives in different parts of the world have brought us to the point where unfortunately this difficult decision was necessary for both of us. We have simply grown apart through not being able to spend enough time together. We have issued this statement to set the record straight and to eliminate any need for speculation."
Imbruglia (who dated Lenny Kravitz, actor David Schwimmer and Canadian race car driver Jacques Villeneuve in the past), 32, met the 28-year-old Johns in London, England in 1999. They married on New Year's Eve in 2003 in a beachside ceremony in Queensland, Australia. Imbruglia has been living in the U.K., while Johns remained based in Australia, so they obviously weren't spending much time together.
Silverchair's fifth album, Young Modern, came out last year. Imbruglia's last studio effort was 2005's Counting Down The Days, while Glorious: The Singles 1997-2007 was released last year. She's slated to release a new record later this year after shooting for the film Wolverine finishes in June.
