Metric are taking their growing superstardom to the small screen this winter with the release of their first DVD. According to spin.com, Live At The Metropolis will be released Feb. 12 through Last Gang and will showcase the synth-pop band's performance last fall at, appropriately enough, The Metropolis in Montreal while touring in support of 2005's Live It Out.
Those who aren't content just watching the live performance on their televisions may be pleased by an iTunes-exclusive EP featuring three songs taken from the performance. Available for only $0.99 it is considerably less than a ticket to see Metric in real life.
The DVD borrows heavily from Live it Out with eight of the album's 10 songs making an appearance. The rest of the songs are taken from 2003's Old World Underground, Where Are You Now?. Also included with the DVD are music videos for "Monster Hospital," "Poster Of A Girl" and "Empty." Meanwhile, the live EP will feature "Patriarch On A Vespa," "The Police And The Private" and "Too Little Too Late."
This could very well be the only chance fans of Metric have to catch the band in any kind of live setting as they are currently taking a break from the road with no tour plans announced.
