On the same day that TMZ reported that Chris Brown's manager, Tina Davis, is reportedly the "other" woman whose text message triggered the alleged altercation between Brown and girlfriend Rihanna a month ago, Davis' father said the rumors are untrue.

TMZ reported that Davis, 39, who is rumored to have carried on a romantic relationship with the 19-year-old Brown when he was 16, is the person who texted the singer on the night of the incident, referred to in the police report as "a woman who Brown had a previous sexual relationship with."

The manager's father, George Davis, however, told E! News that the latest speculation surrounding his daughter is nothing more than the rehashing of "old rumors."

"They were saying that before. Those are old rumors," he reportedly told the site.

Brown's camp has long denied that that the singer and Davis were ever romantically involved, releasing a statement to Vibe magazine in November 2007 that said, "Chris Brown and his manager, Tina Davis, have a strictly professional relationship.

"Ms. Davis has been instrumental in helping Chris achieve success as a multi-talented singer/dancer/actor," the statement continued. "Rumors that the relationship goes beyond a working one, are not only patently false; they diminish her efforts and his undeniable talents."

Davis could not be reached for comment by MTV News on Tuesday. A spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office would not confirm whether Davis sent the text, telling MTV News, "Brown has not been arraigned yet, so we will not be commenting on the matter." Brown appeared in court last Thursday, hours after he was charged with two felony counts of assault and making criminal threats. He is due back in court April 6 to be arraigned and enter a plea in the case.

Just last week, new information emerged regarding the matter as police documents were made available. In a police statement, Rihanna told officers she found a three-page text message on Brown's phone from a woman he was involved with in the past, who is now believed to be Davis. Brown allegedly became enraged at Rihanna after she discovered the message. After allegedly attempting to kick her out of his car and pushing her face against the window, he then allegedly began pummeling and biting her.

Tony Knight, a representative for Brown, had no comment when contacted by MTV News.
