Has anyone noticed that Pete Doherty is looking a tad "healthy" these days? I guess I can't really diss his beefed-up look too much. It's better than the skeezed-out, sweaty junkie look he's had since his final days with The Libertines. Anyway, Doherty's band Babyshambles are taking another stab at respectability with Shotter's Nation, which comes out Tuesday. If you loved "Fuck Forever," certainly you'll find something to love in "Lost Art Of Murder." For all his faults, the man has a way with song titles.
Serj Tankian has gained a reputation as an intense live performer and political activist, but apparently you won't hear much of the latter on his System Of A Down-free solo debut, Elect The Dead, which is out this week. Tankian seems to have recast himself as a vaudevillian on the record, which I'll say is better than his curly long hair/Zack De La Rocha look.
Neil Young's Chrome Dreams II is also out this Tuesday. The Canadian icon's latest disc is a tribute of sorts to his lost Chrome Dreams record, and it might feature the broadest mix of genres that Young has ever put to tape. But if it brings him back to Toronto's Massey Hall for a few shows, we have no problem with that.
Here are some other albums coming out on Tuesday:
