Boston's Dropkick Murphys have annouced their inaugural "Celtic Punk Invasion" tour, with dates spread out between the US and Europe. The band will play a pair of shows on March 17, 2014 marking the first time they have played Ireland on St. Patrick's Day. There will be two shows that day at Dublin's Vicar Street venue. In Boston, the band will have a matinee performance on Saturday, March 14, as well as an additional show that evening. Two months later, they will make an appearance at the Skate and Surf Festival in Asbury Park, NJ.
Tickets for the March dates go on sale October 24 and 25, depending on the date. Ticketing information can be found on the band's website. A "major announcement" for US fans wishing to accompany the band for the Dublin St. Patrick's Day shows is expected soon.
The band's most recent album, Going Out in Style, was released in 2011.
