Stoner metal titans Sleep have released their first studio recording since 1996's Jerusalem, which was later edited and released as Dopesmoker. The new song is a 10-minute epic and is called "The Clarity." The song is being released as part of the "Adult Swim Single Series." After NPR asked the band if the song was a lyrical follow up to Dopesmoker, the band has described the song as "a lyrical follow-up to a lifetime of marijuana enjoyment."
There is no word yet if more new songs will follow, though on recent tours, the band has been playing songs which have never been recorded in the studio and may be newly written tunes.
