Following the incarceration of frontman Tim Lambesis for crimes related to hiring a hitman to kill his own wife, As I Lay Dying have released a lengthy statement about the future of the band. However, there have been some conflicting reports about the initial statement itself. Originally, it appeared that the statement, which was posted on the band's website, was from the band directly. However, after the statement was published on the band's site, Metal Blade Records, their label, denied that the statement was official. Following that, As I Lay Dying guitarist Nick Hipa released an "official statement." Further, Hipa stated that the initial statement was from Lambesis himself and did not reflect the intent of the band.
