Kanye West, 50 Cent, Ludacris, Joss Stone and Ashlee Simpson are just a few of the music stars who have been partying in Las Vegas this weekend leading up to tonight's (September 9) MTV Video Music Awards.
On Friday night, Sean 'Diddy' Combs, Three 6 Mafia and several hip-hop producers came out for the BMI Urban Awards at Las Vegas' New York New York hotel.
BMI honoured Run-DMC's Joseph 'Rev. Run' Simmons for his contributions to popular music, and Sean Garrett (Britney Spears, Usher) took home awards for producer of the year and song of the year.
Meanwhile at the Rio hotel nearby, Ludacris celebrated his 30th birthday in style with the likes of Quincy Jones and several hip-hop luminaries and actors.
Intimate concerts were given by Kanye West, 50 Cent and Joss Stone for audiences that included Jamie Foxx, Paris Hilton and Ashlee Simpson.
And before the sun set, the music stars took advantage of swag offerings at several gift suites throughout the city, reports the Associated Press.
The MTV Video Music Awards are set to take place tonight at the Palms Hotel, with Britney Spears leading off the night with a performance of her new single, 'Gimmie More', as previously reported.
