It is with a heavy heart that we regret to inform you Clive Burr, former drummer of Iron Maiden, has passed away. It has been reported that Clive, who has had health problems in the past from dealing with multiple sclerosis, died in his sleep this past Tuesday night. You can read part of the statement from his former band mates below and find the rest of the band's statement on their website.

This is terribly sad news. Clive was a very old friend of all of us. He was a wonderful person and an amazing drummer who made a valuable contribution to Maiden in the early days when we were starting out. This is a sad day for everyone in the band and those around him and our thoughts and condolences are with his partner Mimi and family at this time.-Steve Harris
