Looks like the Internet brouhaha that developed after Blink 182's Travis Barker indicated that he couldn't fly to Australia has led the drummer to reconsider his position on human flight. When questioned about it by an Australian newspaper, he conceded:

I'm contemplating getting knocked out and getting on a plane to Australia. I want to overcome that eventually. When I do, I think it's going to be Qantas. They never had a crash, never had a fatality - knock on wood. It's something I want to overcome for me - and my kids are scared to death to fly. I want them to witness me overcome it.

As Barker says, Australia's national airline, Quantas, is considered one of the top four safest airlines in the World and New Zealand's is 7th overall. (In case you're wondering, the venerable British Airways came out on top for safety, not so much for delays.)

As we noted in the original story, Barker was in a horrific plane crash in 2008 which saw two crew members and two passengers on board killed and Barker critically injured.
