Brandon Flowers of The Killers was recently interviewed by Zane Lowe of the BBC's Radio 1, where he revealed that the band will "definitely" release a new album this year, and that a few songs had already been recorded. Flowers didn't specify a release date, but indicated that it would be in the second half of 2012. Regarding the new album's sound, he said that "we don't want to make 'Hot Fuss 2,' or 'Sam's Town 2,' or 'Day & Age 2.' We'll maybe take all that stuff, the best of all of it and do what we know how to do."
The as-yet untitled album will be the band's fourth, and their first recording since 2008's Day & Age.
