Kid Cudi and Wale may have shared an XXL magazine cover in 2009, but the two rappers have had a frosty relationship in recent months stemming from words Cudi had for the Washington D.C. rapper in an interview with Complex,

The Kanye West protégé dismissed Wale as a "simple" rapper after he included made a punch line out of Cudi's altercation with a fan in one of his songs. Cudi called Wale out, insisting West wasn't a fan of his and proclaiming that the Roc Nation artist had been a "diva" on the set of their GQ "Men of the Year" shoot with Drake.

Now, after a brief war of words, the two have patched things up publicly over Twitter.

"Its never too late to make things right," Cudi wrote, to which Wale responded, "we back cuz."

Both artists are in the midst of career changes and perhaps that enabled a reset between the two. Wale recently aligned himself with Rick Ross and inked a deal to join the Miami MC on his Maybach Music Group as an artist. (He joins upstarts Meek Mill and Pill on the roster.) Ross is set to eventually relocate from Def Jam to Warner Bros. (home to his MMG imprint) after the release of his next project.

As for Cudi, the rapper recently announced he was splitting from his management team to form a new music production company. While he's still affiliated with Kanye as a G.O.O.D. Music artist, Cudi is teaming with producer Dot Da Genius to form a new partnership.

In January, Cudi announced via Twitter that his next project would be produced with the help of Dot Da Genius, the producer behind his breakout hit, "Day 'N' Nite." "Pushing for a summer release of the wizard album. i produce and play guitar on everything with my main man @dotdagenius. he's learnin bass," he wrote.
