Lil Wayne is back on his remix grind, and has tackled an explosive smash for his latest feature.

After switching up Wiz Khalifa's "Black and Yellow" last week for the Green Bay Packers anthem "Green and Yellow," the New Orleans lyricist recently tacked a verse onto Bruno Mars' torch jam "Grenade," lacing his bars with the same crazy-in-love proclamations as the Doo-Wops & Hooligans crooner.

"And I don't mind when we fall out/ Long as we fall back into it/ I hope we never put an end to it/ Even though you not that into it/ Heaven, have you ever been it? 'Cause it looks like you never been/ You're more like a Hell's Angel/ And for you I'd rather sin/ Broken heart/ Love you with a broken heart/ For you I'll jump off Noah's Ark/ Love is blind and hope is dark/ Why does pain feel so good? Love is science/ Live for you, die for you/ And I'll die smiling," Wayne spits, restraining his typically freewheeling flow in favor of a more plaintive delivery.

Lately, the MC has been revamping tried-and-true hits like "Grenade" and "Black and Yellow," but he's also contributed rhymes to some of his friend's spankin' new tracks like Travis Barker's "Can a Drummer Get Some?" MTV News caught with the rocker just days before the 2011 Grammys, which is fitting because the two chopped it up about teaming up in the studio when they hit the stage at last year's trophy handout. Barker dished that the track, which also features Rick Ross, Game and Swizz Beatz, was the first record he dreamed up for his solo album Give the Drummer Some.

"I painted that one up in my head — that's the first song I wrote for my album. I pieced that one together, I knew exactly how I wanted it," he explained. "I [had] played on something for Young Money — they wanted me to do a remix, and I was like, 'Cool.' I had seen Wayne in L.A., and I had talked to him about a verse, so [we were like] 'let's just do [an] even trade.' So, like a month later, I got my verse from Wayne. Man, everything he said, he just killed it. I would get mixtapes and I'd be listening to it in the car, like blaring it, and I'd hear him say my name or something, and I'd be like, 'Lil Wayne just said my name, this is a trip!' Because I'm a fan."
