For three straight years, MTV Movie Awards Executive Producer Mark Burnett has run a super-tight live show that has managed to create a slew of enduring pop culture memories. Remember Brüno's butt and Eminem's head? Will Ferrell and Sacha Baron Cohen sharing a sloppy on-stage smooch?
So what does Burnett have in store for his fourth go-round at the Movie Awards? Like he'd tell us! But he did sit down with MTV News to toss us many a tease about what fans can expect tomorrow night. One of the most anticipated moments of the evening will undoubtedly be when the spotlight shines on Sandra Bullock as this year's MTV Generation Award honoree.
"Sandra Bullock is so deserving," Burnett said. "It's going to be a beautiful moment. The package of her work that you'll see on the screen just brings a tear to your eye. She's also very funny. There's some funny stuff around the Generation Award."
Bullock and the rest of the celebs at the Gibson Amphitheatre will be doing their wacky best in front of a massive stage set up -- hundreds of feet of TV screens and the ability to sate your pop culture thirst in 3-D. It should be quite a spectacle -- one that starts building during the pre-show.
"I feel really lucky we have the premiere of 'Jersey Shore' as the lead-in to the Movie Awards," said Burnett. "[The cast is] going to love it. The big stars, the big set.... I think they're going to be having a great, joyful experience of like, 'Whoa, this really is Hollywood.' "
And in Hollywood on Sunday night, fans will get to check out not only their favorite celebs but performances by two of this summer's most high-profile singers. Katy Perry will bust out "California Gurls" -- with Snoop Dogg in tow -- and Christina Aguilera will deliver of medley of tunes.
"The songs have high energy and it just raises up the auditorium of 7,000 people," Burnett said. "It's really like a rock concert."
Don't miss the live red-carpet coverage, exclusive movie clips and fist-pumping action on MTV News' "Jersey Shore Blow-Out at the MTV Movie Awards," airing live from Los Angeles this Sunday, June 6, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Then stay tuned for the 2010 MTV Movie Awards at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
