The 'American Idol' runner-up is eager to tour overseas, where he thinks he'll be much less controversial.By Jim Cantiello

Adam Lambert has a top-40 hit with "Whataya Want From Me" and a #1 music video on VH1. His major-label debut, For Your Entertainment, just went gold. So what's next for the "American Idol" fave? Two words: world domination.

"I'm gonna go to Australia first, then Japan, then the U.K., then Germany," Lambert told MTV News moments before Ryan Seacrest's "Rock My Town" concert last Friday. "I'm really excited to travel. I think that's one of the best parts of this whole gig. We get to meet new people and see new cultures."

For Your Entertainment is already available in Australia, and it is set to hit Japanese stores in March. European record shops, meanwhile, won't get its glittery goodness until April. Regardless of where his international promo tour takes him, Lambert is confident his glam-pop will translate to audiences all over the globe. "I think a lot of the songs kind of have a little dash of that Euro flair in there," said Lambert, who is headlining his first show Stateside at the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California, on February 27. "And I think the Japanese kids will like the clothes."

The controversial pop-rocker is especially excited for his trips to the U.K. and Germany — where, he joked, there are "no boundaries." "I think the European audiences are generally a little more liberal," he said. "I'm sure there are certain things that I do that won't upset people as much as they do here."

"Idol" champ Kris Allen, who appeared alongside Lambert and Allison Iraheta on Friday, had a personal request for Adam's time abroad. "You should totally do a duet with La Roux," Allen suggested. "She is sick!"

Adam eagerly replied, "That'd be cool. She's great!"
