Britney Spears and her 2-year-old son, Jayden James, were seen leaving the Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center around 6 p.m. on Monday, less than 24 hours after the boy was rushed to the emergency room for was described as a "reaction" to something he swallowed. A post on Spears' official Web site confirmed that Britney and Jayden checked out on Monday and that the boy is "fine."
The health scare for Britney's youngest was a result of what an unnamed source told People magazine was a "terrible allergic reaction" to something the boy ingested, which prompted the overnight hospital stay. The health emergency came as Spears was on a family vacation in her home state of Louisiana. It was her first trip out of California with the boys since her custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline over Jayden and the couple's 3-year-old son, Sean Preston.
E! Online reported that a police and security escort guarded Spears as she was ushered into a waiting SUV, and one eyewitness said the 26-year-old singer looked "totally exhausted." After leaving the hospital, Britney and Jayden went directly to the Spears family's Serenity compound near Kentwood, Louisiana. Federline had said that he would fly from Los Angeles to Mississippi on Tuesday if the child had not been released from the hospital on Monday.
