Just a day after Katy Perry and Russell Brand's engagement was confirmed, details have begun to emerge about the night that Brand proposed to his pop star fiancée.
People.com reported that Brand planned every moment of their vacation together in Jaipur, India, in late 2009 in order to show Perry a romantic time.
People also confirms that the pair stayed in a luxury hotel, where he proposed to her. The pair reportedly stayed at Taj Rambagh Palace hotel.
According to hotel staffers who spoke to England's The Sun and details later confirmed by People, Brand elaborately planned the evening. "He had organized a special dining experience. We set a table in a garden with candles everywhere," the hotel staffer said. "They arrived in a horse and carriage with a glass of champagne and we served them dinner."
The hotel staffer went on to say that "at midnight they enjoyed fireworks while sitting on an elephant, which Mr. Brand specially requested. Then they were taken to the Mughal Garden — which was decorated by flowers and candlelight." Brand asked Perry to marry him after she found the ring hidden in the flowers.
A rep for Perry declined to confirm the details reported in People.com's article to MTV News.
