According to a report from The Mirror, the iconic artwork from The Clash's London Calling will soon be auctioned off, just in time for the album's 30th Anniversary on December 14, 2009.

The artwork by Ray Lowry includes pen and ink sketches, each signed and inscribed by the artist. One reads "Preliminary Ideas - Title As Yet Undecided. Sept '79 Final Photo Not Seen At This Point", the other "Preliminary Idea - The Band Walking Down A Detroit Side Street Sept. '79 Detroit". There are also four A4 sheets of pen and ink and pastel sketches, two double-sided, one signed and inscribed Detroit 16/7/79 Alley Scene - Original Thought - Band Walking Towards Camera.

The set will go on sale at an Entertainment Memorabilia sale in Knightsbridge on December 16, is expected to fetch £50,000-£70,000 ($83000-$116000).
